Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Version

This is my second favorite Metal Gear game so far (the first being Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance). The gameplay was honestly not as outdated as I was expecting at all, and I got used to the controls a lot quicker than I thought I would.

Some of the highlights, other than the stealth gameplay, were definitely the Psycho Mantis boss fight and Revolver Ocelot. However, I did end up disliking the other bosses and thought they were unfun and very gimmicky.

Another complaint I had was that it was sometimes unclear where you had to go. I thought this was more of an issue during the second half of the game, which caused me to resort to looking up a guide whenever I got lost or wasn’t sure what I needed to do.

In conclusion, though, I think this game was definitely a masterpiece for its time and is still a very solid game today if you have the patience for it.

8/10
